Achmad Wira Wiguna (12120046), Penerapan Spanning Tree Protocol Terhadap Wide Area Network (WAN) Pada PT. Duta Lestari Sentratama Jakarta.
Seiring bergantinya tahun perkembangan teknologi dan komunikasi kian semakin maju, terutama perangkat komputer yang dewasa ini sangat cepat perkembangannya. Di zaman ini apabila kita ingin maju kita di tuntut untuk dapat menguasai berbagai macam teknologi yang banyak berkembang, terutama komputer yang saat ini banyak sekali digunakan di dunia industri maupun di dunia usaha. PT. Duta Lestari Sentratama ini adalah perusahaan yang kegiatan kerja sehari–harinya sangat bergantung terhadap jaringan komputer dan komunikasi data, oleh karena itu pengetahuan tentang komponen-komponen penyusun jaringan komputer serta software-software yang digunakan dalam membentuk suatu komunikasi data sangatlah penting untuk dipelajari guna tercapainya kebutuhan pokok tersebut. Maksud dari penulisan Skripsi ini adalah untuk menerangkan dan memaparkan bentuk jaringan komputer yang dipakai di PT. Duta Lestari Sentratama., dan memberikan suatu jaringan usulan yang kiranya lebih baik dari jaringan yang ada saat ini. Spanning Tree Protocol merupakan sebuah protokol yang berada dijaringan switch yang memungkinkan semua perangkat untuk berkomunikasi antar satu sama lain agar dapat mendeteksi dan mengelola redudant link dalam jaringan, Spanning Tree Protocol dapat mengatasi broadcast storm, dengan kata lain Spanning Tree Protocol dapat mencegah pengiriman data yang berulang dengan paket yang sama, sehingga user tidak banyak memproses broadcast yang ada.

With each passing year the development of technology and communication becoming increasingly advanced, especially computer equipment today is very fast development. In this day and age when we want to move forward we are in demand to be able to master the variety of the many evolving technologies, especially computers that are currently widely used in industry and in the business world. PT. Duta Lestari Sentratama are companies that work day-to-day activities are very dependent on computer networks and data communications, and therefore knowledge of the constituent components of computer networks and software that is used in the form of a data communication is very important to learn to achieve the needs of principal. The purpose of writing this thesis is to describe and explain the form of computer network that is used in the PT. Duta Lestari Sentratama., And provide a network of proposals that would be better than the current network. Spanning Tree Protocol is a protocol that is dijaringan switch that allows all devices to communicate between each other in order to detect and manage redudant link in the network, Spanning Tree Protocol can overcome a broadcast storm, in other words the Spanning Tree Protocol to prevent repetitive data transmission the same package, so the user is not a lot of existing broadcast process.
